TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE CONVENTION HOTEL RATES – COME EARLY

Hotel rate is $104.95+ tax $114.95+tax Poolside: only 6 available & only 5 smoking rooms available. Currently taking reservations. Make sure to say you are with the Griswold Association. These rates are good a few days before and after the convention as well. The official events will be Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday May 5-8, but those who can are coming in early for a Wednesday party at a member’s home. If your schedule permits, book for at least Wed. through Sat. nights.

About the Convention:

1. The theme will be the Brig Niagara, an old restored ship that was used in the Battle of Lake Erie by Commodore Oliver Hazard Perry.

2. The 2010 commemorative has been selected and produced for those who attend the convention.

3. Seminars, show & tell, table topics and all other events planned for this convention are being organized. So, by all means bring your rare and exotic pieces for show and tell and if you have a special area of collectibles that you would be willing to share with the rest of us, please contact HOST and he’ll accommodate you and your collectibles. Set aside some choice items to enter into the auction and get them registered early on the form provided in the November newsletter.

4. We’re currently working with the Watson-Curtze Mansion Museum to have a display of the Alan and Sandy Stone donated collection. Our members will be the first to view this exhibit on Thursday, May 5, 2011

5. Guidelines, hours and itinerary of events will be published in upcoming newsletters after commitments are made.

6. Anyone wishing to see Niagara Falls while they are here? It is approximately 2 hours from hotel. If you want to go to       Canadian side, you will need a passport, so plan ahead!

7.  The Lange's are tentatively planning a dinner cruise on the Victorian Princess.   Details are in the September issue of your

      newsletter, The Pan Handler.

8.  The Mosier's are planning a picnic lunch and social time at their home in Saegertown to get the convention off to a leisurely start, on Wednesday that week, so if you can, plan to add that to your planning itinery for Wednesday between 4-6 p.m.   Details will be in the November issue of your newsletter, The Pan Handler.
